Why you should not have sex during pregnancy?

Sex is one of the most sensational experiences among couples. But is sex safe during pregnancy? Due to in adequate knowledge and urge to have sex, a pregnancy can result into miscarriage.  Below have been discussed some of reasons for not having sex when your wife is pregnant.

Bleeding through vagina

The above is one of the main reasons of not having sex during pregnancy. After having sex during the period of pregnancy, there can be abnormal vaginal bleeding. The color of the blood that comes out from your vagina will be pink in color. If the bleeding continues then this can be the reason of vigorous sexual intercourse that can result to miscarriage. You must consult your gynecologist if the problem persists for a long period of time.

Placenta previa problem

You must prevent sex during pregnancy if your gynecologist diagnoses that you are suffering from a complication known as placenta previa. The above is a condition in which the placenta lies in the lower part of the uterus. If you have sex during this period then it may result to bleeding.

Premature baby

If you ever have delivered a premature baby in the past then you must suppress your urge of having sex during pregnancy. Too much sex can stimulate the contraction activity in your uterine line. This may also again result in delivery of a premature baby.

Amniotic fluid leakage

The above is also one of the important reasons for not having sex during pregnancy. Amniotic acid is a fluid that surrounds the fetus when it grows in the uterus. The fluid serves as a cushioning for your baby. Due to vigorous sex there may be leakage of the above fluid. Your baby can also be affected by various infections after the sac containing the amniotic fluid ruptures. The above condition can also result in delivery of a premature baby. You must consult your doctor if the above fluid gets leaked.

Weaker cervix

The above is also one the vital reason for not having sex during pregnancy. The above complication is termed as cervical insufficiency. This condition happens when the cervix is weaker or softer. Due to weaker cervix, it becomes difficult for the mother to handle the weight of the baby.

Cramp

If you have vigorous sex during pregnancy then you can experience cramp. It is a condition when there is contraction of muscles. If the cramping becomes severe and is also associated with bleeding then you must contact your gynecologist. This can also lead to miscarriage.

Multiple pregnancies

The above is also one of the reasons for which you must prevent sex during pregnancy. During the above condition both the above fetuses share the same amniotic fluid and also the placenta. The above amniotic fluid and placenta may get affected due to vigorous sex during pregnancy.

You must immediately consult your doctor if you face one of the above problems after having sex during the nine months of your pregnancy period to prevent miscarriage. If possible try to control the desire to have sex during pregnancy. You can also try the various safe positions of sex to prevent miscarriage during pregnancy.
