Exercising For Better Sexual Health

Many pregnant women and women that recently gave birth notice changes in their sexual life caused by physical, hormonal and emotional changes during pregnancy. Some of these changes can be spotted by women who lack physical activity too. Poorer quality of sexual life can have serious consequences on the quality of relationship with the partner but the good news is that these potential problems can be avoided.

The truth is that there is a direct link between regular exercising and sexual satisfaction and you can significantly boost your libido with it.

By strengthening the muscles of the whole body, especially the abdominal and pelvic area and improving the cardiovascular fitness and readiness, will positively affect the sexual health in women. Performing exercises with higher number of repetitions with ease or with higher workloads gives a feeling of safety and health and strength that every woman that experiences these feelings can use them in order to be satisfied and happy in her daily activities and sexual life too.

Irregular exercising or complete inactivity raises the levels of stress in general and makes daily activities hard and difficult to perform. That is why exercising is so important when it comes to improvement of health. Even the regular sexual activity, at least the one that satisfies both of the partners, can be considered as an exercise too.

Every exercise that is performed in the right way and possibly with an assistance and observation of a professional trainer improves the physical status of the woman. This physical improvement can be later used in the sexual life. Persons who rarely have any sexual intercourses and do not practice exercising regularly or at all suffer from lack of stamina. Besides that, without regular exercising the risk of getting vaginal infections increases and women that are entering in the phase of menopause are risking additional changes of their libido and increased pelvic floor muscle relaxation.

In these situations women often complain that they lack of sexual desire, they feel less attractive to their partners or because of weight gain they are not satisfied with their look. When health reasons are excluded, every woman should consider the motives for having sex, which doesn’t mean that sex should be avoided but it means that it should be connected to the benefits for her health. After a month of regular sexual activity woman begin to feel changes in their bodies, better control of the muscles especially in the pelvis and the pelvic floor as well as better hormonal support which eventually leads to greater sexual desire. As you can see it is a chain reaction.

Regular exercising can boost the libido because women feel more confident when they can dominantly and precisely control the sexual intercourse because of the stronger pelvic floor muscles. In this way they can also be sure that their partners are satisfied too. The feeling of satisfaction and having healthy hormonal balance which is provided with regular sexual intercourses will be guaranteed!

Sexual Problems In Women

Having sexual problems means that sex is not an satisfying and positive experience for those who practice it. When it comes to women, most common sexual problems include lack of interest in sex, orgasmic problems and/or arousal problems. Some women experience pain during the sexual intercourse.

Many women have sexual problems in some period of their lives. However some women have a permanent problem. In order for the symptoms to become problem they need to start to interfere your normal sexual life. Of course there is no such thing as general normal sex life. What is normal for one person is not normal for another when we talk about sex. Another thing to consider is that our bodies are changing with the process of aging and we can’t expect to have the same shape of our organs or the same sex drive.

So, we can conclude that women’s sexuality is very complex. When there is a problem in the emotional or physical aspect of life, you can expect sexual problems to appear.

Some physical causes include pain from injuries, medical conditions such as arthritis or diabetes or various problems connected with hormonal balance.

Emotional causes can be as bad as physical cause and some of them are – stress, depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationship, sexual trauma etc.

The process of aging can cause sexual problems both from emotional and physical aspect.

Taking certain types of medications can also cause these problems. These medications affect some of the vital functions of our body that are needed for uninterrupted sexual intercourse like blood pressure for example.

The symptoms are easy to spot and they usually include lack of sex drive, problems with arousal, inability to achieve orgasm and pain during the sex.

Women often recognize a sexual problem when they notice a change in their sexual desire or satisfaction during the sexual intercourse. When this happens, it is necessary to look at what is happening in the body and in life in general. Things like instable relationship, lack of time for intimacy and relaxation, painful memories about previous sexual intercourses or some non-sexual disease can all change the level of sexual desire and ruin the satisfaction. Whatever is the cause for this situation; women should detect the problem and try to solve it. Visiting a doctor can be very helpful and although some women might find these conversations about sexual life uncomfortable keep in mind that doctors are professionals and they can help you.

When the cause for these problems is located it is easier to treat them. Sometimes there can be more than one cause for these sexual problems. The good thing is that almost all of them can be treated successfully.

Successful treatment requires a high level of trust and confidence between you and your doctor. Ideally, you and your partner will be able to talk openly about sexual issues. Some causes of sexual problems, such as medical conditions, may not be within your control. But the emotional and psychological states are equally important.

That’s why you need to take care of your overall physical and emotional health. Don’t be afraid to talk with your partner about your problems. Try to find methods to relax. Enjoy the tenderness and intimacy and remember that everything you hear and read about other people’s fantastic sex may not be true.

The Concept Of Sexual Techniques

The importance of reproduction as an essential ingredient of sex makes every person have a certain level of sexual techniques from the day that person was born. In order to produce some item you will need to learn some techniques before you create it, but when it comes to sex you don’t need to earn anything and the result will still come! However, the way to get the best result can be eased if the partners know each other and if they’ve been working on their social and sexual skills.

Mastering your verbal skills and using the right words in the right moment, using sighs and screams when needed, mastering eye contact, better knowledge of your own body and the body of your partner (especially the arousal zones) and adapting the right positions depending on your height and weight are all part of the concept of sexual techniques.

Sexology literature is full with books that try to create how-to guides for sexual pleasure. Most often in this type of books, we can read about sexual techniques that can drive people “crazy” of course if they are properly performed. If we judge only by the content of these books, we might think that there are few buttons on our bodies that wait to be pressed and we will get an instant unforgettable orgasm. But this is not the way things work.

Extending the time for foreplay can create aversion instead of satisfaction for persons that don’t like longer foreplays. A sexual partner that likes strong grip will only laugh and giggle if he/she gets gentle cuddling. Although oral sex is a real pleasure for many people, some consider it to be very perverted and don’t like it at all. Mechanical use of sexual techniques without brining emotions and without knowing or caring what the partner wants can lead to alienating, lack of sexual desire and even avoiding sexual intercourses.

The proper and varied selection of sexual positions takes central place in the mastery of sexual techniques. In this way we can most definitely be sure that over time sex won’t became boring and monotonous. According to some researches there are more than two hundred sex positions.

But to be honest many of them are almost impossible to perform and others require people with acrobatic skills in order to be performed. Practically all these positions can be divided in two simple groups.

Sex couples can perform them in laying, standing or seating position and on the other hand they can be performed with or without eye contact no matter which position they choose. Some couples use two or three positions during their whole life. Others like to make experiments. The most common sexual position is the so-called “Missionary position” – in which the man is over the woman.

However this position is often combined with positions where the woman is on top. It is up to the couple to decide which technique suits them best, depending on their height, weight, current state (pregnancy) or overall sexual pleasure that they feel in certain positions.

How Do Birth Control Pills Affect The Body?

The first birth control pills were produced around 50 years ago and they were received very well by the public, especially among couples that were afraid of unwanted pregnancy. However these pills can affect on almost everything on your body, from the muscles and the brain to the sex drive.

These birth control pills work in a way that deceives the body with the help of artificial female hormones like estrogen and progesterone. They prevent the appearance of ovulation or in other words they stop the release of eggs. The process sounds very simple but the truth is that all those hormones are making a lot more than prevention of pregnancy.

Recent studies have shown that birth control pills can affect appearance, but not that much as previously because the new types of pills are having low levels of hormones and they are significantly improved. This is a short list of things that are usually affected by birth control pills.

Bones

Some studies suggest that taking birth control pills can lower the density of the spine, especially if those pills have low levels of estrogen in them. Natural estrogen stimulates the growth of bone tissue and pills maintain the normal level of estrogen. What is still uncertain is what happens when someone decides to stop taking those pills. However there is no proof that birth control pills cause any diseases related to the bones such as osteoporosis.

Cancer

The link between breast cancer and birth control pills is still unclear. Few studies have shown different results and some suggest that there is a link while others suggest that there is absolutely no link between breast cancer and these pills. When it comes to cancer you should always be aware of family history of the disease, to consult a gynecologist or other doctors that can help you prevent it. What is interesting is that some scientist claim that women who take birth control pills lower their chances of getting uterine and ovarian cancer.

Sex Drive

It is well known that birth control pills reduce the level of testosterone in the body. Luckily, some women have high level of testosterone and taking pills does not affect their sexual desire. If you think that your sex drive is lowered because of the pills, consult a gynecologist who will look for another way to protect you against pregnancy.

Increased Weight

In the past there were cases where birth control pills made women gain weight while taking them. The main cause for this was the high level of estrogen which prevented the kidneys to excrete water from the body and what is interesting is that they have also stimulated a growth of the breasts. Modern birth control pills have low level of hormones (including estrogen) and don’t cause weight gain. Besides that they are even more effective when it comes to prevention of pregnancy compared to the pills from the past.

Skin

These pills can help you with acne and pimples because of the artificial estrogen that they contain. The estrogen reduces the level of testosterone which is responsible for the production of sebum that clogs pores and causes the formation of pimples.

Depression And Sexual Problems

Sexual problems like erectile disorder or inability to accomplish orgasm very often occur together with depression. Good news for those who suffer from these problems is that doctors in most cases can treat these sexual problems with great success. Depression is a well known psychological state and doctors have many ways to treat it.

How does depression affect sexual life?

We probably rarely think about our brain as an sexual organ but in fact many aspects of our sexual experience are connected with it. For example sex drive starts from the brain and continues to slide through our body with the help of the neurotransmitters. These transmitters are actually strengthening the communication between brain cells and provide better blood flow to sexual organs and as we all know – good blood flow means better sexual pleasure. When we talk about depression and other mood disorders in general, the stability between these brain particles is disturbed. That is why, many men and women that are suffering from depression are aware that their sex drive is very weak or practically non-existent because of their mental state.

The link between anti depressants and sexual problems

Antidepressants usually have some really good effects when it comes to mood improvement and the state of mind overall, but in some depressed persons, some of them like serotonin inhibitors can cause very unpleasant side effects. And it is exactly these side effects that can cause a lot of sexual problems. The manner in which antidepressants improve mood is to change the balance that exists between the brain and the brain substance. The thing is that these substances are in direct correlation with the sex drive. So this means that antidepressants disrupt this balance and very often they directly cause sexual problems because of that. People that use antidepressants are aware that the dosage of antidepressants affects the sexual desire and can stimulate even more sexual problems and dysfunctions. Some sexual problems occur more than others due to the usage of antidepressants. Problems like inability to initiate sexual intercourse or enjoy the sex, erectile disorders, inability to achieve orgasm or very weak sex drive are the most common sex problems that comes with antidepressants.

Ways to solve sexual problems caused by depression

Of course it is always a good thing to call a doctor. They are after all trained and educated to solve this kind of problems.

There are also few methods that can help people successfully cope with the undesired effects of antidepressants that affect the whole sex life and at the same time they can continue with their therapy.

There are many different types of antidepressants from different manufacturers and not all of them have the same effects. The newer antidepressants are improved and the pharmaceutical industry is trying to lower the side effects including those that affect the sex life. Of course before making a switch in the type of antidepressant consulting a doctor is a must.

Another good way is to take antidepressants and drugs that improve sex drive at the same time, because there are drugs that help the sex drive that don’t affect the effectiveness of antidepressants.

So before we go for the solutions let understand what exactly erectile dysfunction is.

Erectile dysfunction is a very rare type of dysfunction. The man suffering with this dysfunction is not able to develop or maintain an erection of his penis during sex. Which becomes the reason for unsatisfaction in the sex relation. So this problem not only affects a person physically but also interrupts his and his partner’s life. So read below and understand this enemy more clearly and also the way to cure it.

So to understand what happens in this disease let us first understand the mechanism of erection. When a penis get erected actually what happens is that blood is transferred in the penis by the body and there is a sponge like muscle in the penis which grow and get hard when get in contact with the blood and the blood flow is under the control of our mind, and so during a sexual arousal its the body’s way to respond. So now there are several reasons that why this mechanism works properly and hence become erectile dysfunctional-

1. Psychological- A man may not get an erection even in younger age if he is not psychologically prepared for the sex like he is getting nervous about his first time or the pregnancy thing or overwork, as these reason become the barrier for the sexual arousal.

2. Drugs or eating/drinking habits- One of the major reasons of impotence is something we ate or drank. Things like alcohol, nicotine and other drugs mostly become the reason for this state. Sometimes even the diabetes and obesity is the reason for impotence.

3. Aging- The last and very common reason is aging, when a person crosses his 60’s his muscles get weak and the whole body don’t function like before and same for the penis, so in the old age impotence is very common.

Now as the reasons are clear lets see what you as a victim can do to prevent impotence.

1. So if you think it’s because you are not psychologically prepared or your mind is not playing its part or its because of something you ate or drank then the best way is to consult a psychiatrist/doctor without hesitation because this is also a medical condition only.

2.  Changing the lifestyle also helps a lot, doing a moderate amount of exercise and having a good healthy diet will surely help a lot.

So these things will help you but remember to consult the doctor first and never hesitate to do so because this will save you from a lot of trouble.

Different Types Of Erectile Dysfunction

Commonly referred to as impotence, erectile dysfunction is a condition that affects a percentage of mature males, making them incapable of performing satisfactorily as is expected of them. The condition can manifest itself in different ways including failure to attain penile erectile at all, occasional penile erection, gradual but persistent penile erection or abrupt penile erection without any sexual stimuli. One major problem that some of the males attain some degree of penile erection is experiencing premature ejaculation. This is when a male ejaculates either even before penetrating his partner or does too soon after penetration. They may not be able satisfy their partner with sexual desire and sexual pleasure.

Unlike in the past, the cases of males being diagnosed as impotent is on the rise. This is attributed to some causes that were not there before. The main causes of erectile dysfunction have traditionally remained such causes as old age, health conditions, genetics, surgery and medications. Recent causes include poor lifestyle, contaminated food stuffs and food stuffs short on vital nutrients including vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids.

Erectile Dysfunction

There are five main types of erectile dysfunction:

  1. Arteriogenic impotence – Most males diagnosed and declared to be impotent do suffer this type of erectile dysfunction. Majority of them happen to be those with such medical conditions as diabetes, high blood pressure, medications or those who sustain injuries in their genital areas. The characteristic of this type of erectile dysfunction is insufficient flow of blood in the arteries supplying the penis with blood, which is necessary for normal erection.

  2. Venogenic impotence – This type of ED occurs when penile veins fail to close once they receive sufficient blood that leads to penile erection. In normal cases, the valves in the veins are designed to close down to prevent flow-back of blood. This is the mechanism by which the penis remains erect until ejaculation stage when the valves open, allowing the penis to recoil back. Impotent males who suffer this type of ED are most likely to have inherited the condition.

  3. Neurogenic impotence – This type of ED occurs due to insufficient supply of blood by nerves responsible for supplying penile nerves and muscles with blood. This can be brought about by injury to the spinal cord or around the pelvic region.

  4. Hormonal impotence – This type of erectile dysfunction occurs when there is a serious imbalance of sexual hormones in a man’s blood stream. This can occur when the body fails to naturally produce or secret sex hormones into the blood stream. Such imbalance negatively affects libido, leading to lack of interest in sex, which in turn causes lack of erection or very minimal erection inadequate for satisfactory sexual performance.

  5. Psychogenic impotence – This type of erectile dysfunction occurs due to state of the mind. High stress levels and worries and depression are some of the main causes.

Males who have had healthy and successful sexual life only to be diagnosed and declared impotent at a later time do develop low self esteem, which further worsens their condition. It must also be noted that males who suspect that they have or are developing erectile dysfunction need to consult their physicians for proper diagnosis to receive applicable treatment in good time.
